The Lafayette: Sheet: 8 3/8 x 10 1/8 inches. Sheet is toned with heavy acid migration evident on verso of sheet (which lies directly against an acidic backing board). Sheet is loose in frame, not affixed in any way. Tide marks along bottom edge, not touching signature or image. Losses to sheet at edges. Fashions of the Past: Full sheet cannot be measured as mat is affixed around it. Sheet is affixed to backing board via three tape pieces on verso. In lower left corner there is a notation that reads: Ernest Roth imp. Sheet does not appear to be discolored (from what is visible beneath mat).
